I've had to tweak layouts before.

Use a site like google's image search to find the stars you want as a background. Upload the background Image to photobucket, or some other account. Then after you copy and paste the layout's code, look for this in it::

where it says background-mage url, in the ()'s place the photobucket link to your image over their image link.
